Episode 3 - Chapter 47


Oak quickly grabbed a mirror, casting his eyes around the room, scrutinising every corner.

“Be vigilant,” he commanded. “It could be anywhere, and it is truly deadly now.”

Robert and I helped Edward into a chair, sighing in some discomfort as he settled. Oak was racing round the room, looking under furniture, opening and closing doors and drawers, almost frantic.

“You should calm yourself, Mr Oak,” I said. “A hasty search is rarely fruitful.”

“Mary,” he replied, “There is a mature rainbow assassin somewhere in this house, not to mention whatever's in the cellar. We must take charge immediately.”
