Episode 3 - Chapter 18

The crowd is made up of all manner of creature. Some she recognizes from children's books or films she's seen, most are unfamiliar: a man with bird's feet for hands, a grizzly bear in a bowler hat, a group of children with stitched up eyes, a chattering shrub, three badgers in waistcoats walking upright, engaged in close debate.

And people! All shapes and sizes, all races and colours, even blue. And their attire: ancient and modern, retro and futuristic, some dressed as heroes, others villains, and some in their pyjamas.

But it's not the crowd that takes her breath away, it's the books.
