The red-orange beam meets yellow. They circle each other for a moment, then entwine and continue.
Oak leaps to his feet, triumphant. “Finally!” he declares, looking round the room.
“What is it? What's happening?” Mary asks again.
“A rainbow assassin,” he tells her with relish. “Ha. The game is at last afoot.”
The triple beam is moving faster now, obviously searching for its other components. Already it is moving towards the green.
“Quickly now,” Oak commands, “We must gather as many mirrors as we can find. Bring them to me. We don't have much time!”
