Episode 3 - Chapter 49

I could see Dad was growing uneasy and restless as Mum and Oak bickered.

Kneeling beside him, I placed my hand on his arm. “Everything okay Dad?” I asked.

“Get them to pipe down for a moment,” he croaked. “Need to get my bearings.”

As I stood I shouted “Shut up!” as loud as I could. They both went quiet, Mum with shock as much as anything.

“Now,” I said, surprising myself as much as anyone, “Mum, you look after Dad. Mister Oak and myself will look for his bogeyman rainbow.”

I grabbed a mirror and started searching.
