Raven feels like he's fighting with Robert, just to stop him hurting
himself. He's shaking his arms in every direction, struggling to be
free of Raven's grip, panic written across his face as he gasps for
breath.
“Breathe,” Raven shouts again, but Robert's not listening or
simply cannot hear. Raven feels he has no choice, grasping both of
the boy's wrists in his left hand. “I'm sorry,” he says, before
slapping Robert as hard as he can with his right.
Robert's body jolts in spasm for a moment then freezes with shock.
Raven leans forward, his nose almost touching Robert's. “Breathe,
damn you,” he hisses through gritted teeth, “Breathe.”
Robert is still for a moment, then his body convulses once more as he
gasps for air, gasps which soon turn to coughing as his body doubles
over.
“Help him,” Raven says to Mary as he turns his attention to Fiona
and Edward.
