“What do you mean?”
Raven asks warily when the fit draws to a close, “Right about
what?”
“Mankind, of course,”
comes the reply as the fellow straightens itself once more, “The
danger they pose to the balance in the Warp.”
“The balance...”
Raven begins, but his words are cut short.
“All of those
species,” the bent figure interrupts, “All getting along, sharing
the same environment, living in harmony, until one gets too uppity
and spoils it for all...”
“By which you mean
homo sapiens?” Raven asks candidly.
“Who else?” His
companion wheezes. “Surely you remember a time when the air was
cleaner, the water purer? Then along comes man with his big ideas
and his ambitions, his machines and his industrialisation. Goes and
mucks it up for everybody.”
