Fiona
hurries after them. As she does, the bedroom door closes itself with
a creak. They both pause for a moment to look.
“I fear
that cannot be a good sign,” Strauss says before walking on.
They soon
arrive at the far door, where Strauss pauses.
“What are
we waiting for?” Fiona asks. Grabbing the handle and she begins to
push the door open, pausing when Strauss takes her arm.
“M'lady,
do you know no caution?” he asks.
“After the
day I've had” she replies, “None at all.”
She opens
the door, stepping into the child's bedroom they've just left behind.
