Fox slams
the desk with her fist, giving Ms Firnley a start. “Of course, the
internet!” She turns to Ms Firnley fixing her with a beady eye.
“How many of these children use Facebook?”
“I
wouldn't have a clue, I'm sure.”
“What
about Bebo? Or any social networks?”
“I
wouldn't know about any of them, except Knutbook.”
“Knutbook?”
“Yes, it's
a private network for the pupils here at Knutswick school. One of
the parents thought it important that the children learn to socialise
online as well as the normal way, said it was becoming too important
a part of life. Made quite a fuss at the PTA meeting. Do you know
what to do? To stop this I mean? Make the children themselves
again.”
“Yes I do,
but I'm going to need to call an Authority.”
