“Okay,”
Robert says, “Where do we begin?”
“With
a few simple exercises,” Tom replies. “Let's start with
something basic. Close your eyes and curl your right hand into a
fist.”
Robert
does as he's told.
“Now
imagine you have a marble clenched in that fist.”
Robert
tries to imagine a marble in his hand.
“You
have to really picture it,” Tom continues, “Think about the size
of it, its weight, its smooth surface against your skin. Really
concentrate on every aspect of that marble.
Robert
is trying so hard, his brow creased, fist clenched, that its a few
moments before he realises he is actually holding a marble in his
hand.
