Corvus,” Raven is sure the figure winks at him, “We'll find a
way.”
“Hmmm,” Raven
ponders warily, “Like you did in the Ukraine?”
The bent figure giggles
once more, but replies no further.
“How did you do that,
by the way?” Raven asks, “The Forest could did find an adequate
explanation.”
“Tell me,” the
twisted man begins coyly, “What you think I did.”
“No idea,” Raven
replies flatly.
“But there must be
theories...” he teases.
“Carelessness,”
Raven tells him, “Or some other kind of 'user-failure'. There was
never enough evidence to be able to say more than that.”
“And that would be
enough,” he coughs as he replies, “It takes very little effort to
lead these 'men' to their end.”
Raven is about to
respond when Curly speaks once more. “We regret to inform you of
this, M'lady,” he says, “But that is not the Author.”
