The hedge in front of
her looks different somehow, not as lush or green as other parts of
the maze, almost as if it had been starved of rain. Fiona has little
time to digest this observation as her pursuer screams once more.
She turns to retrace her steps, only to find she is looking down at
it.
Below her is a giant
teddy bear, the size of a grizzly, with no eyes. It turns its head
upwards to face her, knowing she's there. “Poor blind teddy!”
it screams, and leaps towards her.
Fiona
feels a moment of dizziness and wobbles on her feet, but somehow the
teddy is nowhere to be seen.
